These are a staple requirement for any late C19th to early C20th productions and always difficult to find without zips or other modern embellishments.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe decided to go for lace up rather than hooks even though they take longer to put on. The reason for this is that there have been too many predictable stage disasters involving laces tangling with the hooks of the opposing foot. There is also a small loop on the tongue for the lace to thread through. This prevents the tongue from slipping sideways.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2in high heel has been specially carved to a proper period shape usually known as a Louis heel. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese boots are made on a modern last and have memory foam insoles so are fantastically comfortable. The soles are non slip.
